This weekend I had the opportunity to shoot and edit photographs of our 5-month old son. He's gotten used to seeing a camera in his Dad's hands all the time and has become quite the little model. These photos were shot in my favorite style - I kept the camera close by for a few hours this afternoon and captured all of these frames with a combination of natural light and an on-camera flash. Unlike shooting in a studio or setting up portable studio lights in our living room, I was able to be mobile and quick with the minimalist camera rig. I much prefer to capture children in their normal environment with their natural expressions instead of putting them in an artificial studio environment.

And my favorite was a series of pictures taken while he was sitting on our couch.
